NimmaHop July 2nd Live! with Pierre et les Optimistes
Let’s celebrate the beginning of the summer with an awesome live band Pierre et les Optimistes!!
Pierre et les Optimistes play sweet songs, swinging tunes, sunshine vibes and summer grooves! Their personal vision of global music is inspired by Classic Jazz and Jazz Manouche, French chansons, Flamenco and Caribbean Music – as well as anything else that might catch their ear. Wether with original songs or all-time classics they aspire to share joy with the world.
Based in Utrecht, the Netherlands, they have developed an international following throughout the last years.

Even though July and August will be a time of chilling out and many of us going on holidays. We are working on a two Balboa summerschool for absolute beginners on the 11th and 18th of August by Pien and John. Keep an eye on our channels for more info!
NimmaHop OUTDOOR x Nijmegen Klinkt retrospective
Nijmegen Klinkt is one of those yearly events we always look forward to a lot, as we can share our Lindy Hop passion with fellow Nijmegenaren who may have never heard from us! Besides that, it’s always a gathering of old and new friends hanging out, enjoying the sun and a dance or two.
Thanks everyone who came by and joined in, you’re all the best! We feel totally blessed to be part of such a thriving and inclusive community! <3
In the weekend of 10th of August, eight of our Nijmegen Lindy Hop community members travelled to Groningen where we joined dancers from all over for three days of workshops and parties. Sugarspin, the organizors of this festival, and their members made us feel right at home in a very inclusive and welcoming environment!
Besides partying hard, we also got a lot of inspiration from the different workshops and lecture and we cannot wait to share these ideas with you all!!
Also it was really warm 😀

Monday Practice going strong into the summer
Even though we’re swinging into the summer months, the Monday practice sessions will continue on during this block as well! Community member Harrie is at Wijkcentrum Daalsehof every Monday from 20:00 to 21:30 to make sure we can practice those triple steps until they’re easier than walking! Make sure to join in, as it’s one of the best ways to work on your swing throughout the week 🙂
